Financial Inclusion for Rural Prosperity
Traditional banking is often out of reach for rural women due to high interest rates or distance. Our Savings and Credit program brings the “bank” to the village, providing a safe, community-led system where women can grow their money and access capital for their families.
The Power of Savings: Women meet weekly to save small, affordable amounts. This builds a collective pool of capital that belongs entirely to the group members.
Low-Interest Credit: Members can take out small loans from the group’s savings to start a business, pay school fees, or cover medical emergencies, with interest rates they decide on together.
Social Fund: Every group maintains a separate “social fund” to provide emergency grants or interest-free loans for members facing sudden hardships, such as a death in the family.
Profit Sharing: At the end of a 12-month cycle, all savings plus the interest earned from loans are shared back among members, providing a significant “lump sum” for large investments.
“When a woman saves, she is not just storing money; she is storing hope. Our credit program ensures that no woman has to give up on her business dream because she lacked a few shillings to start.”
